Altinn DIN字体是基于”Datto D-DIN”修改而成免费商用英文字体，该字体采用SIL Open Font License 1.1授权释出。下面是字体的说明（也包含在FONTLOG.txt中）。
DIN 1451是一种无衬线字体，广泛用于交通、行政和技术应用。
1931年，德国标准机构DIN-Deutsches Institut fur Normang（德国标准化研究所）在标准表DIN 1451 Schriften（字体）中对其进行了定义。类似的标准适用于模版字母。
DIN最初是为工业用途而设计的，第一批DIN字体是一种简化设计，可以在技术难度有限的情况下应用。由于该设计的易读性和简单朴素的设计，它广泛应用于标志，显示改编等用途。原始设计的许多改造字体和扩展已经以数字化形式发布。
